National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence Selects Glasswall to Collaborate on Data Integrity Project

Consortium to focus on detecting and responding to ransomware and other destructive events

October 17, 2018, London, UK – Glasswall Solutions, the pioneering UK-based cybersecurity company, today announced its collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence (NCCoE) at the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) on its upcoming Data Integrity: Detecting and Responding to Ransomware and Other Destructive Events Building Block Consortium. The results of the collaboration will provide organizations across multiple sectors with available technologies and best practices on how to protect their infrastructure from cybersecurity risks and malicious events.

Ransomware, destructive malware, insider threats, and end-user mistakes present an ongoing threat to organizations that manage data in various forms. Database records and structure, system files, configurations, user files, application code, and customer data are all potential targets of data corruption and destruction. To address these data integrity challenges, the NCCoE will implement Glasswall’s innovative solutions, along with other technologies, in a laboratory environment. The outcome will detail methods and potential tool sets that can detect, mitigate, and contain attacks within an enterprise network. It will also identify tools and strategies to aid in a security team’s response to such events.

The innovative Glasswall FileTrust™ ATP for Email solution provides deep file-inspection, remediation and sanitization technology (d-FIRST™) which integrates seamlessly with existing security architecture and anti-virus software. It acts as the final line of defense against weaponized email attachments and emailed documents containing zero day exploits and malware. Glasswall neutralizes these attacks by delivering attachments as standard-compliant files, providing users the confidence to open attachments without the risk of malware.

“Specializing in the prevention of document-based attacks and protecting against phishing and spear-phishing, our technology defends organizations against the single greatest cybersecurity challenge they face today – email attacks,” said Greg Sim, CEO of Glasswall Solutions. “We’re excited to work with NCCoE, NIST and the other technology collaborators on this project to see how our cutting-edge solution will address the variety of security risks and data integrity struggles organizations face every day.”

By accelerating the dissemination and use of these integrated tools and technologies for protecting IT assets, the NCCoE will enhance trust in U.S. IT communications, data, and storage systems; reduce risk for companies and individuals using IT systems; and encourage development of innovative, job-creating cybersecurity products and services. NIST does not evaluate commercial products under this Consortium and does not endorse any product or service used.
